Tyliko's obituary

Tyliko Getz  "Liko" Maduro, Sr. passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2023 at the age of 32.

Born to  Jacqueline Alisa Blyden and Getz Swift Maduro on June 8, 1990 on the beautiful island of St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, Tyliko was a rumbustious and happy baby.  At the age of 5, he loved the beach, especially Brewers Bay.   At seven years old he joined the Boy Scouts of America, and he thoroughly enjoyed the wilderness outings.

By the age of 10, Tyliko got his first dog, a brown lab/pit mixed called Beyonce'.  He named her after the singer "Beyonce" because he thought she was brown, hot and had sex appeal to him.  From that point on, he took a liking to all dogs.  If he was allowed to, he would have brought every stray dog home, but he knew that was unacceptable. He was only limited to one at a time.

When he became a teenager at 13 years of age, while actively involved in church, he started working with the disaster release ministry, helping people across the United States rebuild their homes and lives after catastrophic events.  This walk of his journey allowed him to realize how much he cared for people and the environment.

As he grew into his teenage years, he developed a style of his own.  He always wanted to be different than the other person.  Tyliko had a unique sense of style.  You would often see him wearing glasses without lenses,  mixed-match socks and shoes, and even his favorite jester's hat at times to make everyone laugh.   A smile on everyone's faces is all he was interested in.

By the time he reached his latter teenage years, he took an interest to sports.  He played basketball and football at Stilwell Middle School, and he continued to play both sports at Ed White High School.

At the end of his senior year, he became a proud father of Tyliko Jr.  He then entered the trade arena of masonry construction.  After a few years of shadowing his uncle, Ajah, he became interested in the field of framing and drywalling.  Tyliko then became a jack-of-all-trades.

During this time he started dating Rebecca, his fiance', and then they started to create a family of their own and build a life together.  Rebecca blessed him with three daughters, one unfortunately deceased, to join him with his son, TJ.

Tyliko has always been a shining light for the family.  He has always made people feel happy with his humble, loving, and caring spirit.  He enjoyed helping everyone, and he gained many titles for the family, such as  "THE MOVER , MR. FIX IT, THE LAWN GUY, and at the family functions, the "INFAMOUS BARTENDER".

Tyliko's maintenance of long-lasting friendships accounts for the person he was.  He gave his family and friends all that he could give.  He never met a stranger, because he opened his life to all that crossed his path.

Our dear sweet ray of sunshine, Tyliko, he lived every moment; he laughed everyday; he loved beyond words.  He did it his way.

Our family was not expecting the loss of Tyliko or for his life to be cut so short so soon. We are devastated by this loss and will feel the absence of Tyliko forever.  He had the sweetest and humblest spirit and a joy to be around.  He will be forever missed.

Tyliko will always be remembered by his fiance, Rebecca Burns; his parents Jacqueline Blyden and Getz Maduro; his grandmother, Harriet Peters-Leonard; his children, Tyliko Jr., Aaliyah and Anah; his siblings, Tylika Maduro and Tymika Bryan; his nephew, Amir Taylor; his aunts, Minister Cecelia Jackson, Tamia Christopher,  Terry Blyden Webbe, Sherri Ortiz-Fahie, Jewel Maduro, Tisa Maduro and Novia Maduro; his uncle, Terrance "Ajah" Blyden, Ulric Maduro, Jr., Mark Maduro and Lon Maduro; his bestie cousin, Benache' Dore; his special friends, Anthony Johnson, Jr., Merryl  Ferrier, Jr., Anthony Sampson, Jr., Sheila Scruggs, S. Jeffrey Dotson, and Jalen Taylor; and many more family and friends too many to mention.
