It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Trudy Alice Marshall, who left this world on July 30, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by family and love during her final moments.
Trudy graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1974 and remained a die-hard badger fan throughout the years. She served on several Board of Directors, including the UW School of Social Work and the Salvation Army in Minneapolis. Trudy loved world travel and dedicated her talents to helping organizations grow. Her caring nature touched many lives as a wife, mother, friend, aunt, and leader.
Trudy was born on August 19, 1951 in Chicago, IL, and throughout her life she embodied kindness, strength, and a deep love for her family and community. She was known for her strong but loving nature, her kindness and her personality traits—e.g., her unique laugh, sense of humor, generosity, fortitude and resilience.
Trudy leaves as a mentor to many successful business women. She was a natural leader that knew how to take charge while also making others feel valued and respected. She spent her career as a marketing and communications professional for many companies, achieving leadership as a Vice President of Marketing, PR, and Outreach at North Memorial Health, but her most cherished role was being a devoted mother, step-mother, sister, aunt and good friend to many. She demonstrated the meaning of love and care through her actions and her presence.
Trudy is survived by her husband of 36 years, Fred Pielert; her daughter and best friend, Maddie Pielert; stepson Nicholas Pielert; stepdaughter Beth Pielert; siblings Michael Marshall, Steven Marshall, and Anne Cox; nephew, Michael Schrimpf, whom she was close to throughout her life; as well as countless loved ones, friends and colleagues.
Trudy was known for always showing genuine care for others -even during her most difficult days. As the glue that held so many relationships of her friends and family together, Trudy taught us the importance of making time for each other. A strong and loving person with a big heart... The world is less bright today without Trudy here.
