My father was disabled from a congenital visual impairment that caused him to be legally blind, therefore reliant on disability to live off of. As most people know, disability doesn't pay very much a month. It was enough to scrape by on. He had life insurance once upon a time, but was forced to let it lapse after he turned 59 for the rates going up to a level he could no longer afford being on a fixed income. This left my family in a position where we were forced to go against my father's burial and funeral wishes for lack of money and we decided to donate his body to medical science in exchange for a no cost cremation, however I'd still like to give him a piece of what he wanted if at all possible. I would love to hold at least a proper memorial service and be able to put his cremated remains in the mausoleum with his parents (my grandparents). His original wishes were to have a traditional funeral service and to be put in a mausoleum drawer. He really did not like the idea of being buried in the ground and he especially did not want to be cremated. Unfortunately my hands were tied and I wound up having to do the very thing he wanted the least. So I figured because of that, I could try to raise funds to give him a portion of what his wishes were. This would be giving him what he wanted mostly, just not in the same capacity he imagined it. All money raised will be put towards a memorial service and to the cost of having to reopen my grandparents mausoleum drawer to put his cremains in with their caskets. Contribute
