Troy's obituary

We announce with great sadness the passing of Troy Baker, a man of warmth, generosity, and remarkable helpfulness, who left us on his 55th birthday, October 13, 2021. Born on October 13, 1966, Troy lived a full and vibrant life, with his natural flair of heartening everyone around him and his ceaseless willingness to lend a helping hand.

He leaves behind his beloved dog Dyna, cherished sister, Annette Baker, who will remember him not just as a brother, but as a best friend. Brothers, Brett Baker, Brian Baker, Sam Houg, and Josh Houg. His son, Austin Baker, daughter Kelsey Samuelson, 4 grand children, father Jim Baker, and Long time girl friend, Laura McCuan. He was preceded in death by his mother Christine Houg.  His absence leaves a gap in our lives that will be impossible to fill, but we find comfort in the abundant memories and ongoing legacy he left behind.

Troy was a man of principle. His wisdom was often imparted in his simple, yet potent lessons including "Don't speak unkind of others," reflecting his character of respect and kindness towards all. He also had an extensive knowledge of classic cars, imparting this enthusiasm to all who would listen.

Among his many accomplishments, Troy stood proud as an exemplary Big Rig Driver, with an impressive record of over 20 accident-free years. This accomplishment not only highlighted his stringent adherence to safety, but also his unparalleled commitment to his profession.

The legacy Troy leaves behind is one of generosity, depicting him as a wonderful grandparent and the best friend one could ask for. His contributions to our lives were profound and we were all richer for having known him. Troy was fondly referred to as a "Terrific Grandpa," a testimony to his enduring love for his family.

The vacuum Troy’s departure has left in our hearts is immense. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life well lived, a life that touched and enriched ours in so many ways. We will forever cherish the time we spent with him, and he will always live on in the kindness he showed, the love he shared, and the wonderful memories he created.
