Troy's obituary
Troy Hadden Harley , one of the strongest young men we were blessed to know and love has passed away at the age of 56 after a difficult battle with cancer. Troy was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 54 and put on a brave face and was determined to beat it from the first moment.
Troy did not let cancer define him and instead threw himself into his favorite passion: working on cars, trucks, motorcycles, you name it. He spent hours on working on a project to help others. He loved helping and did so with the clean up in Louisiana and Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina. He loved his church and church family. He loved riding motorcycles. He lived in the Myrtle Beach area for many years and learned to love boating in intercoastal waterway and offshore. He loved to catch shrimp and fish. He loved hanging out by the fire pit , grilling his favorite food and telling jokes with his family and friends.
Troy is survived by Melinda Harley Roy (Daughter), Cameron Hadden Harley (Son) , Alanis Harley Roy (granddaughter) , Skyler Hadden Harley (Grandson) , Michelle Harley Edmund (Sister) , Michael Keith Harley (Brother), Buffy Harley Thouvenot (Half sister), Jody Weimortz Harley (Step brother), Carolyn Carithers Cook (Step sister), Gwen Carithers Sollenberger (Step sister), Percy Hadden Harley, Jr. (Father), Robin Harley (stepmother) Floyd Henry Carithers (stepfather) and is predeceased by Emily Murrell Carithers (Mother), Percy Hadden Harley, Sr. (grandfather), Anne Ballentine Harley (Grandmother), Ruby Murrell Smith (Grandmother)
