Troy and I had met and bonded at the Grinnell leadership training and were instant friends. He had such an impact on me in a month, I’m blessed to have known him and learn from him. I’m incredibly sorry for your loss. The earth is missing such a great man, husband, and father.

When I was young and just started driving, my first beater car had nothing but issue after issue. Troy was always there to help me out and get her back on the road. Sometimes, we'd chat for an hour about the intricacies of being an auto mechanic, and how it's more than just turning nuts and bolts. You have to be like a detective and use your intuition to really figure out what the root cause of the failure. His knowledge and generosity never left me. Twenty-five years later, I'm a bit of a gearhead. As a side hobby, I work on cars - maintenance,  repair, detailing, etc. out here in the southwest. There's no doubt in my mind he was a major inspiration and helped plant the seed. We love you Troy.
