Troy's obituary

Troy Alan Coker, 57, passed away on May 24, 2024, in St. Petersburg, FL where he had resided for the past year. He is survived by his daughter Rebecca Coker and granddaughter Katerina; parents Gerald and Lynne Coker of Croswell, MI; sister Kimberly (Robert) Sontag of Thomasville, NC; sister Tamara George of Port Huron, MI; niece Jessica (Corey) Snyder of Port Huron and nephew Matthew George of Port Huron. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins.

Troy was born on August 4th, 1966, in Port Huron, MI and was adopted at 8 months old by loving parents Gerald and Lynne Coker. He grew up in Croswell, MI and graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School in 1985.

Troy served in the Air Force shortly after high school and went on to pursue a long and successful career in carpet sales, which he excelled at being top salesman everywhere he worked and owned his own store for some time.

He enjoyed living life to the fullest and loved to have a good time doing so. His zest for life was infectious to all who knew him, with his raw sense of humor shining through! His smile could light up a room and he loved to speak to everyone. Troy's ability to cook was outstanding, to say the least. He was a huge cat lover and as a child would tame every cat/kitten he found on the farm...and that was a lot! Cats seemed to give Troy peace.

Troy worshipped at Christian churches, finding solace and strength in his beliefs.

May Troy's memory live on in the hearts of those who knew, loved and cherished him. He is dearly missed and will never be forgotten.
