Trish's obituary

Trish Ayers, 57, of Abilene, TX, passed away April 28, 2021 of natural causes due to kidney failure.

Trish was born on November 3, 1963 to John and Anne Smith in Port Hueneme, California. After graduating from Bowie High School in 1982, she went on to study Musicology at Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

Trish began working as a Support Center Manager at Motorola Computer in 1988 before she began her 10-year career as an Account Executive with Cingular Wireless (now AT&T).

In 2004, she landed a job at the Abilene Reporter News where she worked as a Real Estate and Multi-Media Consultant for 8 years.

In 1988, she gave birth to her daughter, Brittany. She then met her best friend and soulmate, Steve, and they wed in 1993. Two years later, they brought a beautiful baby girl, Bailey, into the world.

When Steve was diagnosed with cancer, she dedicated her life to taking care of him and his needs as he underwent chemotherapy and she herself was diagnosed with kidney failure at this time.

But none of this slowed her down. She worked hard to help her husband, take care of herself and her elderly parents. Made time for her children and her friends. Steve passed away in 2016.

Despite all the hardships she faced, the birth of her two grandchildren gave her renewed life and she showered them with so much love and affection.

Trish was passionate about cooking; you could always find her in the kitchen preparing her famous recipes and sharing them with friends and family. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and loved watching singing competition shows like The Voice.

Trish was predeceased by her husband Steven Ayers. She is survived by her daughter Brittany Van Horn, her daughter Bailey Stewart, son-in-law David, and their two children Hudson and Dawson Stewart. Her parents, John and Anne Smith, her brother John Smith Jr. and his wife Rose, sister Cynthia Murdock as well as her mother-in-law Renate Gray.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help cover the cost of this unexpected loss. There will be a Memorial Service at a time and date that is yet to be determined.
