Trevor's obituary
Trevor Scott Buchanan, 53, passed away on May 20, 2025, in Palestine, Arkansas. Born on November 28, 1971, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Trevor lived a life marked by adventure, faith, and a deep love for family and the open road.
For the past decade, Trevor worked as an over-the-road truck driver—a career that perfectly suited his love of travel and exploration. He found joy in the freedom of the highway and took great pleasure in discovering out-of-the-way restaurants across the country. A devoted fan of Red Lobster, he rarely passed up an opportunity to stop in for a meal. His travels were not just about reaching destinations but about savoring the journey—especially when it involved good food and new experiences.
Trevor had a vibrant personality that drew people to him. Friendly and outgoing, he cherished time spent with family and had a special bond with children, who were naturally drawn to his warmth and playful spirit. He was known for his love of shopping—particularly at antique stores—and had a unique fascination with grandfather clocks. His appreciation for history extended to his entertainment choices; he enjoyed watching old movies and classic sitcoms that brought him comfort and laughter.
A man of deep faith, Trevor was raised in the Church of God and later rededicated his life to Jesus Christ. His devotion was unwavering—he prayed daily with fervor and spoke often about the grace of God. He shared his testimony freely, always eager to witness to others in hopes they too would come to know Jesus as their Savior. His spiritual journey was central to his identity, guiding him through life’s challenges and giving him peace about where he was headed when his time came.
Trevor is survived by his father Dennis Buchanan; one brother, Richard Buchanan; two sisters, Amber (Renee) Holt and Apryl Heil; nephews Aaron (Carlee) Heil, Jadon, and Benjamin Heil; Lachlan and Beckett Holt; and niece Genevieve Holt. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jayveta Buchanan.
Trevor’s memory will live on through those who knew him—through stories shared over meals at roadside diners or antique treasures discovered on spontaneous stops. His legacy is one of joy in simple pleasures, steadfast faith, and unconditional love for those around him.
