Trent's obituary
Trent Aaron Taylor, 43, of Wayne City, IL passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Rockcastle Respiratory Care in Mount Vernon, KY where he had resided for the past 10 years. Trent was born June 25, 1981, in Fairfield, IL the son of Jerry and Connie Taylor. On April 11, 2016 Trent married Sonali Marie Gammon who survives.
Trent held several different jobs in his life, but mostly he was an oilfield worker. His last job was with Pioneer Oil Field Services. In December of 2014, Trent was involved in a car accident coming home from work that left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. Throughout the rest of his life, he fought very hard through numerous infections and he maintained a positive attitude for his family and friends. Although Trent attended church as a child, it wasn’t until a few days prior to his death that he professed his faith to a staff member and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Trent is survived by his wife, Sonali and his children, Tripp Taylor and Shelbi Yanez. He is also survived by his sister Terri (Travis) Helm, and brothers, Todd Taylor and Tracy Taylor. He is survived by 2 nieces, Jade (Matthew) Staley, Devin (Cody) Snow and 2 nephews, Jaxon (Briannah) Helm, and Chance “Mac” Taylor, and his in-laws, Jimmie and Darla White, and his brother and sisters-in-law, Kody Windle, Mariah Windle, and Ciara Mueckenheim. Trent also leaves behind many cousins and friends, including the wonderful staff at Rockcastle.
Trent was preceded in death by both of his parents, grandparents, and his mother-in-law, Tina Garrison.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at Rockcastle Respiratory Care. They loved and cared for Trent on a daily basis and were considered part of his “family”. Words cannot express how fortunate Trent was to have such excellent care. Many people loved Trent and he appreciated every card, visit, text, phone call, and homemade jar of salsa, pickles, tomatoes, and jelly that were sent to him.
A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, June 21, at the Keenes Christian Church in Keenes, IL. The doors will open at 10:00 am, and Brother Matthew Staley will officiate the service starting at 11:00 am. Per Trent’s wishes, his body was cremated and his remains will be interred at a future date.
