Trent's obituary
Trent Howard Makare, 61, passed away suddenly, from a heart attack, on September 19, 2023.
As a devoted family man, Trent is survived by his adoring wife, Heather. He was a proud father to Trenton, Amara (Styx), and Avery (Sky) and a loving son of Andrew and Janet Makare. Trent was cherished by his brothers, in-laws, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sandy Makare.
Trent was a proud first responder, ready to lend a hand and use his skills to serve others. He served on the Taylor Volunteer Fire Department. As a second career, he went back to school and earned a degree as a licensed paramedic. As a paramedic, he served at Scott & White EMS (Round Rock and Temple TX), AMR (Temple TX), and finally at Coryell Health EMS (Coryell County, TX). He loved being able to help patients and sharing his knowledge and skills with aspiring medics.
Trent loved donning a Hawaiian shirt and enjoying time with others, as he sipped his red wine and shared his wealth of obscure knowledge and good music. He watched with pride from the stands at his kids’ sporting events, tennis, swim, and basketball, questioning EVERY call, then thanking the ref after every game. He took selling his kids’ Girl Scout cookies VERY seriously.
Trent’s favorite pastimes were watching his Texas Longhorn football, two-stepping the night away in his wife’s arms, and bodysurfing at the beach while living on “Island Time”. He was well-known throughout the neighborhood for his outrageous Halloween and Christmas decoration scenes, which he created to be enjoyed by all. He loved tradition and being surrounded by people he loved.
At 6’4”, Trent was a large presence to behold, but that was simply a shadow of the amount of love, compassion, and camaraderie that he had. He will be well missed but always cherished in our hearts.
