Trent's obituary
Trent Lewis Baker, 63, passed away on January 23, 2026, in Fort Pierce, Florida. Born on July 30, 1962, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Trent lived a life defined by resilience, humor, and generosity.
In 1980, Trent made the move from Michigan to Florida, where he raised his two children, Brennan & Brittaney, who remained the center of his world. His love for them was unwavering, and he took immense pride in watching them grow into the people they are today. He cherished time spent with the families they built, including Brittaney with her husband Jason and Brennan with his wife Hannah. Trent’s love will live on through his beloved grandchildren Olivia and Elijah, as well as his cherished fur-grandchildren Kitty and KK.
Trent was a man of remarkable determination. A true fighter in every sense of the word, he faced life’s challenges head-on with resilience and courage. No matter what came his way, he refused to give up. That strength was matched by a quick wit and playful spirit that could lift any room. He had an uncanny ability to make others laugh - even during difficult times.
A plant enthusiast and avid fisherman, Trent found peace and purpose in nature. Whether tending to greenery or casting a line into the Indian River Lagoon, these hobbies offered him solace and joy. His generosity knew no bounds. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother Kay; son Brennan (Hannah); daughter Brittaney (Jason); grandchildren Olivia and Elijah; sister Tammy (David); nieces Samantha & Olive; Aunt Barb; and extended family in Michigan. His memory is also held dear by many friends whose lives were brightened by his humor and kindness.
Trent was preceded in death by his father John and aunts Diane Schuman and Rita Bell.
Though words can never fully capture the depth of loss felt by those who knew him, Trent’s spirit lives on - in laughter shared around dinner tables, in stories passed down through generations, and in quiet moments spent outside under the Florida sun.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire strength, laughter, and love.
