Tracy's obituary

Tracy L. Waite, 69, of McAlisterville, passed away at 4:14 AM on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born on July 15, 1953 in Philipsburg, Centre County, he is a son of Darlene (Brantner) Waite Banks of McAlisterville and the late Melvin R. Waite. On April 22, 1972, he married his surviving wife, Mary Ann (Fultz) Waite, with whom he was blessed to share more than 50 years of marriage before his passing.

In addition to his Mother and Wife, he is survived by his children, Teresa Frymoyer and her husband Kevin of Mount Pleasant Mills, Joe Bowersox of Liverpool, Jodi Decando and her husband Joseph of Mifflintown, and Allison Swartz and her companion Coty Dressler of Richfield; grandchildren, Keyla Gingrich and her husband Nate, Anthony Decando and his companion Courtney Wilson, Morgan Decando and her companion Nick Nipple, Ashley Koch and her companion Lewis Showalter, Marisa Frymoyer, Zach Frymoyer and his companion Karly Doyle, Brooklyn Swartz, and Caden Swartz; great grandchildren, Jayden Koch, Brittany Koch, Josh Koch, Brayden Peck, Bella Peck, and Adalynn Ann Frymoyer; siblings, Sharon Waite of McAlisterville, Terry Waite and his wife Christine of Mifflintown, and Tim Waite and his wife Missie of McAlisterville; and several generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a niece, Laurie Waite.

Mr. Waite was a 1971 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and was employed as an Over the Road Truck Driver for Empire Kosher, Inc. of Mifflintown and H.F. Campbell and Son of Millerstown.

He loved camping; all of his grandpuppies; cooking; attending tractor shows; was an accomplished bass player who played for various local bands and loved to play bluegrass; hosted a Bluegrass radio show on WQSU in Selinsgrove; was an avid race fan who also worked as a pitman for various NASCAR drivers and was a Gas Man for local driver Graham Taylor; however, his greatest love and enjoyment came from time spent with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Tracy will be remembered as a good, kind hearted husband, father, grandfather, and brother and lived his life by the Bible verse, “Do unto others as they would do unto you.”

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from the Oakland Mills Evangelical Methodist Church, 148 Leonard Road, Oakland Mills with the Rev. Dan Rockwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the Church.

The family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly ask that memorial contributions in Mr. Waite’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
