Tracy's obituary
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Tracy Smith, who left us peacefully on July 10, 2024. A beloved father, brother, and son, Tracy was born on February 22, 1966. He was a light in our lives, always igniting laughter and showing kindness towards everyone he met.
Tracy is survived by his cherished daughter, Andrea Smith, his mother, Bonnie Henman and his sisters, Dea Miller, Shari Shippy, and Shelia Helickson. They, along with everyone else whose lives were touched by Tracy, will deeply miss his jovial and compassionate presence.
A man of simple pleasures, Tracy's favorite refreshment was a cool can of Pepsi - he would insist "never Coke". He had a great admiration for the New Orleans Saints and was a lifelong fan. Tracy found comfort and joy in movies, with the film "Bicentennial Man" being a particular favorite of his.
Tracy lived his life with an infectious sense of humor, kindness and compassion. He was a man who firmly believed in the strength and resilience of the human spirit. His mantra - "sometimes everything has to fall apart for you to get back up and move on with life" - served as an inspiration to many and was a testament to his never-give-up attitude.
Among his many accomplishments, Tracy was most proud of overcoming a 30-year struggle with addiction, making him a beacon of hope and an example of strength for many who knew him. His greatest joy and achievement, however, was his beloved daughter, Andrea.
Tracy leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love that will continue to resonate in the hearts of his loved ones. We will remember him for his larger-than-life personality, his kindness, and his unwavering courage. His memory will forever remind us to face the challenges life presents with grace and humor. We are blessed to have known Tracy and will carry his legacy with us always.
