Tony's obituary
Tony lived his life here on earth out loud and full. His mission here is complete. All the gifts given to him have been thoroughly used and his vessel is empty.
We gather together to celebrate and memorialize this amazing spirit that never met a stranger and loved to share a conversation. Just a quick hello in the grocery store could easily turn into a “brief” 45-minute catch up on everything.
Tony had an appetite… for life yes AND definitely for FOOD! He got it honest though. When your grandmother is Margie Brown, known for making some of the best chicken n’ dumplings, you develop a palate for the finer southern cuisines.
Not one to mince his words, Tony was sincere in sharing what was on his mind, raw and uncut. Also with a tender heart, he would offer a perspective giving hope and inspiration to those with limited vision to recognize their own potential.
Tony was born with cerebral palsy. Others saw his condition as a handicap. Tony played his position as Very Capable. His calendar was full of rehearsals and travels with his gospel group, invitations to breakfast / lunch / dinner with family and friends that would stop by and pick him up, or just jotting around town. Never one to let moss grow under his feet, Tony always had something to do.
Tony traveled all over the country sharing his gift of song and praise. A true pitch baritone / bass vocalist, he sang with The New Revivals gospel group the past 10 years. He has also shared his talent with several other gospel groups. He LOVED to sing. Tony’s greatest joy in life was offering praise and celebration. His mere presence was a tremendous inspiration to so many people in places high and modest.
Tony is the son of Grady Carlathia Brown-Johnson and Charles Fredrick Jackson, Jr. They have both transitioned and surely awaiting the arrival of their first baby boy again.
Tony was raised by his grandparents – the loving and nurturing, Margie Carlista Brown, who always called Tony, “Lover Boy”. His grandfather was Eugene “Boot” Brown. Both grandparents are transitioned on to glory as well.
Tony is gone on, and his memory is left behind by a tremendous league of family and very close friends alike:

They say blood is thicker than water, when it comes to family, however water is unconditional when intention is focused. Water can wipe a baby’s bottom or it can cut diamonds. Tony held close to his heart those friends that loved him like a brother. His special relationship with CHARLES & DIANE SPRINGER was that kind of intentional love.

NEW REVIVAL - Willie Rhames / Rick Mittleton / Rev. Gonzalez Harris
Tony was also part of the gospel groups - SALT OF THE EARTH / HEAVENLY HOSTS / ANGELIC MELODIES

The sun arose for Tony Lamarr Jackson on July 2, 1960
The beautiful sunset was on June 25, 2021 – peacefully in his sleep surrounded by those that love him and hold him dear.
