Tony's obituary
Tony Lakvold, 65, of Traverse City, MI passed away on October 17th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Tony grew up in South Lyon, MI. He was a framer by trade and was passionate about sharing his knowledge with others. He took great pride in his work. Tony was quite the athlete in his younger days and loved to watch his kids and grandkids play sports. He enjoyed softball and bowling in his adult years.
Tony was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping, and hunting for mushrooms. He shared his love of archery with his daughter and enjoyed fishing with his sons. He taught all of his kids how to drive on dirt roads in the woods. Spending time in nature is where he found his peace.
Tony also liked to garden and in his later years took great pride in his flower beds. He also developed a love of birds. He would sit outside and watch his bird feeders for long lengths of time. Even sitting still long enough to get some of them to eat out of his hands.
Tony was predeceased in death by his father, Marvin Lakvold, and leaves behind his children, Danielle (Jerry), Devin (Melina) and Landon; his grandchildren Damon, Javon, Braxton, Aubrey, Asher, & Owen; his mother Shelby; his brothers Richard, Dale, & Brian; his sisters Betty (Don) & Rosy; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in Tony’s honor on November 16th, 2024 at 2pm at the Upper Peninsula Club, 10770 Calumet Rd, Whitmore Lake, MI 48189
