Ton's obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Ton Chi Huynh announces his passing at the age of 29 on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. His life was taken too soon after a long and difficult battle with schizophrenia. Ton suffered valiantly for six years from the ravages of this chronic and incurable illness.

Ton was born on July 27, 1989 at Children’s Hospital in Washington D.C. He was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland where he spent all his life. He will be lovingly remembered by his family. He is survived by his parents, Dung Thi Tran and Khang Van Huynh; his five older siblings and their spouses, Doan Huynh (Tracy), Don Huynh (Jenny), Kaitaia Fu (Tony), Wayne Huynh (Patricia), and Nhu Huynh (Matthew); as well as his cousin Hoang Huynh (Thanh), and cousins once removed, Charlie and Cynthia Farmer. He was also the beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews: Kayden, Zoey, Audrey, Peyton, Savannah, Lily, Emma, LylliAnna, and Luke.

Ton will not be remembered for his illness. He had a tremendously gentle heart and great sense of humor. During his teen years, he was immensely witty and jocular in nature. His high school days were filled with many friends and social outings. He desired deeply to be loved and productive. He had many talents though none were fully realized. He was great at drawing, dabbled in automobile repair, and had an interest in computers. Even during the height of his illness, he constantly sought employment at various jobs where he aimed to be useful and valuable.

His family misses him and grieves over their loss; however, they know his unbearable physical and mental suffering has finally ended.
