Tommy's obituary
Tommy Eugene Koger, a scrap metal recycler and resident of Broken Arrow, OK, died on August 18, 2021, at the age of 56, from pre-existing conditions and complications from Covid-19.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Deana Marie Koger, and their four children: Matt Smith, Chris Smith, Heather Rydin, and Kayli Koger. He leaves his father, mother, two brothers, and sister behind.
Tommy was born on February 2, 1965, to Kenneth and Gloria Koger. He grew up in Moore, OK, and graduated from Moore High School. On October 21, 1987, he married the love of his life, Deana. Later he started processing and specializing in recycling metal. This would become not only his means of providing, but his passion.
Tommy enjoyed golf, bowling, and, well, anything that involved being competitive. He was a devoted and compassionate husband and father. Food and fellowship with friends and family was something that he loved with all his heart.
Later in life, he became known as PaPa to eight grandchildren: Easton, Elizabeth, Evan, Jadyn, Oliver, Walter, Asher, and Lucy. He always made them feel important and special. As grandparents, he and Deana would have many Nana and PaPa dates for birthdays and Christmas.
Tommy had a heart for God and a desire to help others, whether it was his last dollar or the shirt off his back. He has left an indelible mark on all of our hearts and will always be missed. This world robbed him of a great deal of health, but he never let it dim his light. Rather, he stayed passionate about life, regardless of his circumstances.
A memorial service will be held at the Restore House in downtown Broken Arrow, OK, at 9:30 am on Thursday, August 26. Paster Scott Johnson will officiate.
