Tomas Cantera Bernardino passed away at John F Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio, CA on October 18, 2021. Tomas was born in San Andres Ixtlan Jalisco, Municipio Gomez Farias to Jesus Cantera Santos and Feliciana Bernardino Perez. Tomas worked as a machine operator for 44 years.

Tomas is survived by his loving wife Maria Guadalupe Cantera, his children Armando, Luis Omar and Maricela Cantera. Tomas was a loving grandfather to Gabriel, Alina, Cielo, Michael, Luis, Ariel, Julie, Esperanza and Aaron.

Tomas was unapologetically himself and was quick to tell you how it is! His favorite pastime was watching his Chivas play while enjoying a cold one. Tomas loved to entertain, you would often find him singing along with a Mariachi or Norteño to his favorite songs from Vincente Fernandez, Lalo Mora and Ramon Ayala. Tomas was devoted to his faith and weekly served his beloved parish, St. Francis of Asissi.

Tomas was very much loved and will be missed by many.


Viewing for Tomas will be held at Oakdale Mortuary & Memorial Park, 1401 South Grand Ave, Glendora, Ca 91740 on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A farewell service and burial will be held at the same location on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
