My sincere condolences to the entire family, Tom will be greatly missed. Tom was also my mentor when I started working for NASA, I was his office mate for at least 7 years, and we worked on various projects for around 15 years before he moved to another gov’t agency. Tom always had an excellent work ethic and was very patient with me. Just like Joe Stevens mentioned in his eulogy, I too had similar experiences of accidental deletion of files, but on his PC. Thanks to Tom, he was able to undo it, and he was very patient with me. He was also methodical and prudent. His work efforts were always well documented. He was generous with his time and talents, I remember Tom sharing peaches that he and Bellrobin grew themselves. I remember his huge generosity letting me store building materials in his basement while I was building a house in Seabrook.

We went on various weekend canoe/camping/hiking trips, which were a lot of fun thanks to his excellent planning. Whether it was Assateague island, Antarctica, New Zealand or simple bike trips on the B&A trail, our trips were fun and stress free thanks to him. We shared our mutual interests in technology, wood working tools, computers and yes even Star Trek. Tom made these things very fun. My life, both at work and outside of work, was made better, thanks to him.

The zoom service was indeed a wonderful testimony to what a wonderful family man, co-worker and friend he was. He will be missed.

My Website Testimony for My Younger Brother Tom & Our Deepest Condolences for His Precious Family

A respected senior global colleague once said that for many people, death can sometimes come as a rude surprise. The sudden news of Tom’s passing certainly came as a total shock to me. I can’t imagine how it was Bellrobin, Angela, Steven and Robert, to whom our family sends our deepest condolences and prayers.

I decided to wait a few days before posting anything about my love and appreciation for Tom, to whom I felt I was just getting to know Tom in a whole new way, after all these years of living our different lives as best as we knew. Today, I invested several hours reviewing email and photo exchanges with Tom from over the last few years. I was so looking forward to further developing and expanding our relationship on so many levels, with my last communication with Tom being less than week before his unexpected and sudden passing. His love, his care, his attention to detail, and his humor continued to move me. As his son Steven said in his remarks, he will continue live on through us. Every time that I now think of Tom, I want to honor his life and his family by being the best that I can be – faithful to principles, loving and loyal in relationships, especially with family, with as much attentive, public minded care, humor, humanity and warmth that I can muster.

That’s part of what Tom represented for me, in terms of how he fully lived his life. I’m grateful that I and three of Tom’s other Sardella brothers (Jim, Phillip and Norman, along with nephew Derek) were able to be there in person for the March 25th Memorial Service. Tom was an honor to our parents and an honor to our family.

Special thanks and respect to all those that contributed to such a moving service, under these circumstances. I look forward to sharing the video and soundtrack presentations with my other family members and friends, to further honor Tom’s life and to hopefully spur us all to higher levels of love and care. Our family will continue to pray for Bellrobin, Angela, Steven and Robert – that they may find whatever strength they need in the weeks, months and years ahead. Prayers.

With my best love and gratitude for the person that Tom was – and is. Brother Don

I am so sorry for your loss.  We had lost touch through the years, but access to facebook renewed relationships with many family members.  Im grateful for having shared the posts from Tommy and learning about him as an adult. I attended the zoom service. It was a wonderful tribute to him. My prayers are with you all as you navigate without Tommy present.

Robin and family

My sincere condolences to Bellrobin and family.

I met Tom in the Boston area at the 50th anniversary of Joe & Shirley Teixeira, and have stayed somewhat in touch.

To Bellrobin, Angela, Steven, Robert, and your extended family:  words cannot express the sorrow I feel for your loss.  Your beautiful eulogies affirmed what I already knew - that Tom was a man of substance in every respect.  As husband, father, brother, friend, and faithful follower of Jesus Christ and His way of life.

It was a privilege to be his friend for 43 years and co-worker for 33 years, especially the last 6 or 7 before he retired.  We'd worked together very closely during that time on a project of great significance, and his dedication to that task was an inspiration to the entire team.  We would not have been able to accomplish it without him.

I will greatly miss his friendship, his insight, and his humor.

My sincere condolences to Bellrobin and family.  I worked with Tom for roughly 12 years at NASA.  When I joined NASA, Tom was one of my mentors.  Tom was always patient and positive; an outstanding  human being, mentor and engineer.
