Tom's obituary
Tom Rowe
In a celebration of a life well-lived, we joyfully remember Tom Rowe, who departed from this world on February 26, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, a trail of laughter and cherished memories that will forever echo in the hearts of those lucky enough to have shared his journey.
Tom was born in 1955, son of the late Clarence (Bill) Rowe and Joan (Fuller) Rowe. Tom embraced life with an unparalleled zest and a spirit that refused to be dampened by the cancer challenges that came his way. He was a dynamo of positivity, a beacon of light, and a force of joy in the lives of those around him. Tom's journey on this earth was marked by his unwavering dedication to family, friends, and community.
Tom wore many hats in his lifetime, with boundless enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. He spent 40+ years in the banking industry. He tackled challenges with a grin, turning obstacles into opportunities and inspiring others to do the same.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom was a very social man who knew how to throw a party and make every day an adventure. He volunteered his time over the years at many organizations including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Feed the City, Rotary Club, Lewisville Chamber of Commerce, The Byron Nelson, and the Cub Scouts. Tom turned his love of fundraising and wine into a business, opening “Wines With an Appeal”. Tom traveled the world, visiting 49 of the 50 states and countless countries, and loved being on a boat, whether it was a cruise or a ferry ride. He had a knack for turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, and his infectious laughter could brighten the gloomiest of days.
Tom is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy Rowe, his high school sweetheart; two sons, Sheridan (Dan) Rowe of New York and Travis Rowe (and wife Danielle) of Texas; and sister Ann Rowe-Arey (Bob Arey) of Wyoming. Also surviving are two treasured grandchildren, Levi and Simon. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Potter. Instead of mourning his departure, let us remember Tom for the vibrant, vivacious force of nature he was.
A celebratory gathering in honor of Tom will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 (2-4 PM CST) at the Heard Museum in McKinney. In keeping with his joyous spirit, the family invites everyone to share stories, laughter, and photos in memory of Tom. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the American Cancer Society or Feed the City.
