Todd's obituary

Todd Michael Mezeske, a.k.a. "Chin King", passed away on July 12, 2025, in Parker, Colorado at the age of 69.

Born May 11, 1956, Todd was the son of Mary and Carl Mezeske. He grew up alongside his seven siblings. They enjoyed their time together on the family farm and playing sports. Todd later attended Brethren High School, graduating in 1974, before going on to Michigan Technological University.

He held various jobs before returning to Manistee in 1980, where he worked for the Manistee County Road Commission until 1984. He then began his sales career at ADS, later transitioning to outdoor sporting goods sales with GB Stump, and finally finding his professional home at H&G Marketing, where he worked from 1996 until he retired in 2022.

Throughout it all, his wife Angie was by his side. They married in October 1991; however, they had been together since 1986.

Todd loved hunting a wide variety of game, including trips to the Yukon and Africa. He also enjoyed fishing, watching sports, hiking/biking, listening to music, traveling and simply having a good time no matter what the occasion. He loved sharing these adventures with his wife, family and friends and often enjoyed a good meal paired with a glass of wine or whiskey to cap off these days.

Todd especially loved hunting, fishing, and playing sports with his two grandsons, Alex and Calvin. While also taking time to spoil his granddaughters, Chloe and Kora, with chocolate-covered strawberries or other sweets on Valentine’s Day. He made every effort to attend their gymnastics meets and dance recitals whenever he was in town. He was the fun grandfather who had no problem getting down to the kids’ level to play and tell fart jokes or jump into Lake Michigan—even when it was frigid.

Though Todd left this earth entirely too soon, he made a huge impact on many and made the most of each day while he was here and hoped his kids would continue to live that way.

Todd was preceded in death by his older brother, Danny Mezeske who was only 2 months old; and his parents Mary and Carl Mezeske. He leaves behind his siblings Steve Mezeske, Gail (Albert) Nelson, Gwen Johnson, Jeff Mezeske, Scott (Brenda) Mezeske, Brian Mezeske, and Gary Mezeske; wife, Angie Mezeske, who has been by his side for 40 years; two children, Stacy (Rick) Wiewiora and Nikki (Joshua) Glass; and four grandchildren: Chloe and Alex Wiewiora, and Kora and Calvin Glass, all who loved him deeply. He also leaves behind his two sister-in-laws Paula Sibal and Michele Weaver; and his Uncle Jerry (Loretta) Sleeman.

Though Todd's time with us was far too short, his impact will be felt forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life for Todd will be held at noon on August 15th, 2025 at the Brethren Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the Wellston Community Center.
