Tobias's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved Tobias "Toby" Cheaumont, who passed away on February 12, 2011. Tobias fought against many trials with his battle against leukemia as a child and then when it resurfaced to battle again in his adult years. Tobias was known for saying "leukemia told me it was bringing the storm. I said b*tch I am the storm." Born on November 17, 1970, Tobias lived a rich life full of love, compassion, and selflessness, leaving a remarkable legacy that will continue to inspire many.
Tobias was a man of many virtues. Known for his caring, giving, kind, and creative demeanor, he touched the lives of countless people around him. He was not just loving and kind, but he was also inspiring. Tobias was known for his ability to teach young men about self-love and self-worth, emphasizing that only they, and the divine, had a real say in their lives. These invaluable lessons, delivered in his unique, compassionate way, transformed many lives, encouraging those he mentored to rise above their circumstances and find value in themselves.
His commitment to nurturing and improving the lives of others was strikingly evident in his professional achievements. Tobias graduated with honors from Louisiana State University, obtaining a Master's degree in Social Work. This academic achievement underpinned his lifelong dedication to service and philanthropy, creating a career path that allowed him to lend his strength and understanding to those who needed it most. He focused on helping young men from abused backgrounds where others would have walked away. He and his wife were fixtures at many youth organizations and charity events.
Tobias leaves behind a moving legacy of charity, compassion, and understanding, a testament to his unending kindness and empathy. He will be remembered not merely for the lives he touched, but for the hearts and minds he changed and the hope he instilled in those who felt overlooked. His loss is deeply felt by the young men he mentored and the many lives he touched.
He survived by beloved his wife, Megan Cheaumont, who shared in his journey of service and compassion. Her strength during this difficult time is a testament to the enduring power of their love and shared commitment to making the world a better place. Tobias was predeceased by his and Megan's son Ethan Elijah Cheaumont, his grandfather Lamar Adrian Cheaumont, and his grandmother Adaleigh Abigail Cheaumont.
The world will certainly miss Tobias' exceptional spirit, but his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift others for generations. Rest in peace, Tobias "Toby" Cheaumont, your light continues to shine in the hearts of those you touched.
