Titus's obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Titus "TI-TI /superman" Ortega-Reynero who passed away on March 05, 2025 at the tender age of 9. Titus was born in Dallas, TX on May 19, 2015 to his mother LaMya Reynero and father Ricky Ortega jr and loved, cherished and taken care of by his dad Alejos Reynero. Titus  was a sibling of 8, in his own words I'm number 4 to be exact"  he brought immeasurable joy and light to our lives with his kind, warm heart, his radiant smile, and boundless curiosity. Titus was always the funny bone in the family full of laughter and love. He proudly stated that he wanted to be a paleontologist when he grew up. Anyone who knew Titus, knew his love for Dinosaurs, prehistoric animals of all kinds, Iron Man, Spiderman and so much more. Titus also loved spending time with his siblings no matter what they were doing, he loved art and loved him some tacos! That was his favorite food tacos and rice with hot sauce lol and he had an ear for Mexican music, going to a dance was top on his summer to-do list this year lol, Titus had a love for God at a very young age and had the most faith I have ever seen in a child. When Titus was born he was born with HLHS and through out his 9 years he was one tough cookie he put up a fight for his life I don't think I could remotely imagine wanting to live through. He had endured heart failure and had more surgeries and procedures than the average child his age but that didn't stop Titus because he knew God had him and he always beat the odds! On May 11th,2024 Titus was admitted to Mott's Children's Hospital for heart failure and had begun his process for waiting for a heart transplant. Finally on October 15th, 2024 Titus got his new heart and from that day forward he seemed like a brand new kid. After returning home to his family in November of 2024 he was full of life doing things he couldn't do before, for example running and keeping up with the other kids and play just about all day until his body took him through a wrong turn. On February 9th Titus was transported from Sparrow Hospital of Lansing, MI to CS Mott's Children's Hospital of Ann Arbor, MI. We were assuming it was something viral we all had very high hopes for Titus to come back home. Titus had gotten very ill very fast and was diagnosed with PTLD a cancer post transplant patients can get and beat with treatment. Unfortunately Titus had a rare case that rapidly spread through multiple organs of his body including his brain. Through all of this Titus stayed strong, a week prior to his death Titus had a point to prove  that he wasn't going anywhere getting up out of the bed walking to the chair, marching in place throwing the ball around the room with his PT Logan. He gave us all hugs that were  different than before on that Friday. Amost seems like he knew this was coming and didn't want us to worry, but we never in a million years thought his battle was over. Titus’s memory will forever be cherished by his siblings Angel (11), Jessenia (6), Aurora (4), Isaiah (12), Elijah (14), SeVíyn (1), GioVonní (5mo), all of his cousins especially Gabe, Semaj and Aries, his grandparents Kenyett, Lamont, Tasha, Oreala (La), Jason, Michelle, Ricky Sr ; great grandparents Jennie, Patricia, Betty, Ricardo, JoVita, his aunts and uncles Adrienne, Chelana, Lameisha, Lametra, Keyana, Rebecca, Veronica, Alannah, DeVon, Mogee, Ruben, Reggie, Romelo, Antoine and loving godparents Shaqueese, Faustisia and.
