Tionna's obituary
It is with immense sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Tionna "Tana/Tennessee" Adams, fondly known by those who loved them as Tionna, who left us far too soon on July 11, 2024. Born on December 12, 2000, Tionna was a beacon of individuality, creativity, and strength during their short-lived yet impactful life. They are survived by their loving mother, Dani Rivas, grandmother Laura Brooks and beloved cat Tech Support.
Tionna laid their academic foundation at Thomas Edison High School on Santa Monica Street, San Antonio, Texas, where they graduated in 2020. Their tastes were eclectic and filled with energy, much like their personality. They loved indulging in burgers, Blue Bell Ice Cream, and mac and cheese. Arnold Palmer Arizona Tea was their drink of choice.
Tionna found comfort and creativity in various forms of media. Their interest in books leaned towards the graphic storytelling of comics and manga. They were a fan of bands like Limp Bizkit, Motionless in White, and Paramore. Their love for television ranged from the lighthearted SpongeBob to more dramatic series like The Walking Dead and Euphoria. Movies such as 28 Days Later, Avengers, and Spiderman were their favorites. Especially drawn to comic and realism, Tionna appreciated a broad range of art.
Games such as COD, RDR, Mario Kart, and Animal Crossing provided them much entertainment, as well as late night Discord calls with their beloved friends JJ, Trinity, Bo, Beck, and Tristan, as well as their clan members from COD and various online friends. Tionna often spent their recreational time listening to music, playing COD, drawing, or exploring their beloved city. Tionna was also in their senior year at UTSA where they were majoring in Fine Arts, but was considering making the transition into the medical field by becoming and RN.
Passionate about trans rights, Tionna always championed causes close to their heart with fervor and undeniable courage. They found beauty in the colors green, black, and red, which accurately reflected their personality - introverted yet creative, hilarious, insightful, generous, sympathetic, unbiased, beautiful, and careful.
Their greatest accomplishment was being the best daughter and friend one could ever have, leaving a legacy of unapologetic individuality and unique weirdness. Tionna always reminded us to consider others' feelings, not to let fear shelter us, and to be unashamedly ourselves. They encouraged us to voice our thoughts, no matter how random, and to take risks in fashion.
The void left by the loss of Tionna is immeasurable, but the art and memories they gifted us with will live on eternally. Their absence will be deeply felt, but Tionna's spirit, art, and teachings will continuously inspire and remind us to wholly and proudly be ourselves.
