Tina's obituary
It is with deep love and profound sadness that we share the passing of Tina Marie Tate, who died peacefully at home on October 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was 48 years old.
Born in Cheverly, Maryland, Tina grew up in Edgewater before eventually settling in Arlington to raise her beloved daughter, Autumn. In recent years, she found a home in the Atlanta area with her partner Nick and daughter, where she continued to fill the lives of those around her with light, laughter, and wisdom.
Tina began her professional journey as a government contractor, quickly distinguishing herself through her intelligence, diligence, and leadership. She was soon recruited as a full-time employee and rose into an executive director role. Beyond her professional career, Tina was deeply devoted to personal growth and healing, which led her to became a reiki and Ayurvedic practitioner.
Her greatest joy came from simple, beautiful moments—tending to her garden on “the hill,” practicing yoga, creating art, or losing herself in a book, often finishing it in a single day. She was truly a scholar with a boundless curiosity for life, healing, nature, religion, and love.
Tina had an extraordinary gift for connection. She made everyone feel seen and heard, sharing in others’ joys as if they were her own. Her warmth and light touched countless lives, even as she faced her own moments of darkness with strength and grace.
She is survived by her devoted partner, Nick Annan; her cherished daughter, Autumn Gromada; her mother, Jean Tate; her siblings Keri, TJ, Lisa, Lori, and Joe; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Ed Tate, who passed earlier this year.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Silver Swan Bayside, 412 Congressional Dr., Stevensville, MD 21666. Guests are encouraged to wear light, flowing colors or florals in honor of Tina’s radiant spirit—no need for black attire.
Tina will be remembered for her brilliance, her compassion, and her unshakable belief in the beauty and interconnectedness of all things. Her light will continue to shine through the many lives she touched.
