I am saddened to hear of Tina passing. I knew Tina because two of her children were students in my fifth grade class. What I witnessed was a mom who was true to her children, who knew them and sought to help them succeed. She cared deeply about their emotional well-being and their academic preparedness. They were her treasures, her hope, and her joy. She lit up when she spoke of them, with laughter and smiles and silly commentary. You just knew this was a mom who loved deeply. I know Janelle, Jasmine and Jonathan will miss her every day, but I also know they couldn't have asked for a better mom.
