Accidentally matching

Accidentally matching
I vividly remember meeting you, Tim. I was doing something silly in that odd place after one of MIT’s boat cruises, and you immediately matched my humor. I knew we were going to be good friends.

I remember having a drink with you, and you drank Vodka and water. I thought it was the weirdest drink, and maybe, you were maybe part Russian - then I found out that you couldn’t drink beer.

I remember our thoughtful conversations about the future of technology in the US and China and SEA markets - you brought a perspective that I loved. You were so excited to come into tech in the Bay, and I was so proud and happy for you when you told me about your Google PM gig. It’s funny how I sort of helped you prep when you started b-school, but it was you who were helping me only a couple months ago when I was switching jobs.

I remember one of those nights when we had a drink at my place - you had to make a call to wake up your girlfriend in Hong Kong b/c she struggled waking up to her alarm. It was only a minute, and it was so cute. Tim, you cared for people.

I remember when we met up to watch a movie together, and we both were accidentally matching. This picture gave me so much joy. To me, this picture represents a shared brotherhood - we had so much in common, even down to the outfit that we independently picked. I’m glad you indulged me to take this picture - I didn’t realize that our time would be so limited.

Our moments were filled with laughter and fun. A friend and I reflected that you made groups better - your positive attitude filled the space and made everything better. You provoked thoughtfulness and inspired me with your character and clear values.

In our last WhatsApp thread, you messaged me: “talk to you later?” - you had to jump to a call. You were moving closer down to the South Bay, and we were going to hang soon. When I found out the news, I couldn't process it. We still have so much to talk about, Tim.

I’ll miss you, friend. We’ll talk again someday.
Dear Tania, auntie Teresa and uncle Anthony,
No words can express how sorry I am about your loss, please accept my sincerest condolences. I will always remember Tim as Tania’s smart, funny and kind baby brother. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family at this difficult time.
Love, Julliana

Such fun nights out together. This was a highlight, when we all went to that new Mexican place whose name I always forget. You probably appropriately gave me crap for going home early!

Sibling power! I’ve always admired how Aunty Teresa & Uncle Anthony raised such brilliant human beings. It’s not about the awards or accolades (though Tim has plenty of that!) but his generous selfless spirit and loving kindness he embodies, which was cultivated at home. it’s hardest for the people left behind since the departed are all in paradise now but a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how we can capture their essence to live life to the fullest ✨❤️🙏
