Timothy's obituary

On Wednesday December 7th 2022, Timothy William Townson passed away unexpectedly at the age of 64.

Born to “Margie” and “Bud” Townson in Hamilton, Ontario on September 20th 1958, Tim was one of three triplets and 1 of 7 Townson kids in total: Rick, Ginny, Cathy, Terry, twin sister Tammy and identical twin brother Tom. He was massively proud of his time serving with the Royal Regiment of Canada as a recruit and eventually an Officer Candidate. A natural salesman, Tim followed his Dad's footsteps, selling life insurance for decades – he thrived on meeting new people and making personal connections. Tim became a proud Dad in 1986 when his first child and daughter Brittney was born, and for the second time with the birth of his son Patrick in 1989. Tim had a constant smile, an infectious belly laugh and an insanely goofy sense of humour – he was always either telling a joke or laughing at one. He loved war movies like Patton and A Bridge Too Far, but absolutely adored The Wizard Of Oz. He loved great singer/songwriters like Simon & Garfunkel, Harry Chapin, Billy Joel and Gordon Lightfoot. He loved a glass of scotch and a fresh crossword at the kitchen table after a long day. He loved Sunday mornings watching classic cartoons in his "Happy Pants" (PJ bottoms). But loved his friends, his family and his kids more than absolutely anything else.

Our family was not expecting the loss of Tim – he had health problems for quite a few years now, but we are devastated that his life had to be cut so short so soon. We are heartbroken and he will be forever missed. We hope and feel that he is with his Mom, Dad and older brother Rick – now, forever and finally, at rest.

Timothy will be forever remembered and loved by his daughter Brittney and her husband Jesse, his son Patrick, his siblings Tom (Heather), Tammy, Terry, Cathy (Bob), Ginny (Paul) and sister-in-law Camille. He adored his nieces and nephews and his extensive family and friends. A big thank you Tommy, Joel, Marilyn, Alex and everyone at The Royal Canadian Legion and Veteran Affairs for all your support, service, friendship and kindness.

A Celebration Of Life will be held in the new year (early 2023) and further announcement will be made. In lieu of giving flowers, Tim’s children ask that those who are able to instead make a donation to the Royal Canadian Legion.
