Timothy's obituary

Timothy ‘Timmy’ Eli Seppi, 30, of Bethesda, MD, unexpectedly passed away at his home in Austin, TX, on June 8, 2025, due to an undiagnosed heart condition.

Born on January 17, 1995, in Takoma Park, MD, Timmy was the son of Molly Ellen Gallagher and Timothy John Seppi. Timmy graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications. He was a standout athlete, playing varsity football and lacrosse for Walter Johnson High School, where he served as team captain and earned several accolades, including All-County, All-Division, and Defensive MVP honors. He started his collegiate athletic career at Stevenson University as a member of their Division III lacrosse team. After graduating, Timmy built a career in tech sales, a field that perfectly matched his natural charisma, quick wit, and ability to connect with people.

Recently, Timmy relocated to Austin, TX, with his girlfriend of seven years, Amy Talon, where they began an exciting new chapter together. They loved cooking, working on home improvement projects, exploring the city, and travelling the world. Timmy never passed up a chance to play a round of golf, go to a concert, or log on to play video games with friends. He had a love for dogs which extended into volunteering to foster dogs in Austin–and had an uncanny wit in creating nicknames for animals–friends and family alike.

Despite his trepidation about being far from home, Timmy approached this exciting new chapter of life with the same enthusiasm, curiosity, and open-heartedness that defined him. He never missed a moment to come home to celebrate a milestone for family or friends, or a gentle reminder to let you know he was thinking of you, and was always there for you whenever you needed him even if you didn’t think you needed him. Timmy had a gift for making people feel like they belonged, and his absence will be felt by a large and loving circle of extended family and friends who were lucky to know him. He had a way of making people feel welcome; his energy was quiet and loud all at the same time. To know Timmy was to love him.

Above all, Timmy loved his family deeply. He was a proud and loving uncle to his two young nieces, Grace and Emma. Beyond his professional career, he found great joy in contributing to his family’s vineyard, where he often spent weekends with his father and stepmother.

Timmy is survived by his parents, Molly Ellen Gallagher, Timothy John Seppi; his stepmother Karen Seppi and stepfather Cary Greene; his sisters Lauren Gradowski (Michael) and Caitlin Seppi (Lexie Wille); two nieces, Grace and Emma Gradowski; and girlfriend and best friend, Amy Talon, as well as many loving aunts and uncles. His love and impact extend far beyond his immediate family. He was a beloved cousin, many of whom he considered not just family but his closest friends. And his friendships ran deep and wide—built on loyalty, laughter, and countless shared memories.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 19, at 10:30-11:45 a.m., immediately followed by Eulogy and Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Little Flower in Bethesda, MD.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Timmy’s memory, may make a donation to the Walter Johnson High School Educational Foundation. Timmy’s love of sports was a defining part of his life, and this fund will help ensure that his passion continues to inspire and support the next generation of young athletes. Team sports, devoted coaches and volunteers, and lifelong teammates helped shape the generous, resilient, kind-hearted person Timmy became. Through these donations, we hope his spirit will live on in every practice, every game, and every young person given the opportunity to grow and develop through sport.

We encourage everyone, regardless of age or apparent health, to learn about their health history and speak with a healthcare provider about heart health screenings. Many genetic heart conditions show few or no warning signs until it is too late, and early detection can save lives. Timmy’s passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how precious and fragile life is. Let us carry his memory forward by taking care of ourselves and looking out for one another.
