Timothy's obituary
“Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio: a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy”
And in an instant, the light was extinguished.
John Timothy (TimTim) Pray has left his early bounds to explore, celebrate and prosper in his new world without limits, contradictions, or prejudice.
Tim was raised by wolves in the Badlands of South Dakota. His youth was spent wandering the plains, looking for fulfillment and family. If we were to measure this time on a dimmer switch, the setting would be 3. Something was missing.
Tim was fond of little painted men and worlds where he could be the auteur filming a scene where fate was real and his oversized personality could cradle and care for those who needed a noble patriot.
The dimmer setting jumped to 7 when he was reintroduced to his daughter Sarah, Josh and Little Baby Lucy. Now it made sense. She looked like him, understood his thoughts and brought the word family into a safe and loving context.
Forward a bit more, his love, Kathryn moved the needle toward 10 and a family was being created.
Finally, the needle reached 11 when he and his birth mother Elaine were reunited after oh so many years. Tim now knew the entire story. He has three brothers and a sister that become fast friends. He and his mother talked daily and his love for her was omnipresent. It was a joy.
Sadly, time did not let him celebrate long. Illness started breaking the connections and then there was no signal.
We all loved TimTim and love him still. What a joy to behold. Whether he was wearing his Russian Oligarch attire or his crown and robe, he was a sight to behold.
In physics (Tim loved Physics) The First Law of Thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed. Family has absorbed much of his energy but there is so much left for others.
Tonight when you rest, think of Tim and he will come to you. His exuberance will invade your soul and never release itself. It’s a good thing.
Tim was loved and shared that love in return. It was a joy to be in his presence. Unlike anything else, remarkable, funny and loving.
Tim was a teacher who loved all his students. He gave all he had to them. They loved him in return and are all better for the experience. To all Tim’s students, his love for you was glorious. It was his guiding light.
He is survived by his daughter Sarah McNeal (Josh) and granddaughter Little Baby Lucy, his Mother Elaine Neumann and new father Willie, sister Chris (Santo) Soto, brothers Steve Schierman, Rick (Judy) Boerner, Scott Boerner, and nephews Rick and Joe Boerner.
The family wishes that everyone celebrate the great teachers in your lives. Tim loved teaching so much and sharing that love in return will be a gift to Tim that will last forever.
