Timothy's obituary

Timothy Leroy Langeberg, 71, of Glyndon MN passed away on March 14, 2023 surrounded by his wife and children; in Las Vegas, NV; after complications from heart surgery.

Tim was born on July 21, 1951 to William and Hildegard Langeberg in Stirum, ND. The youngest of seven boys, he went on to join the US Navy after graduating from Moorhead High School in 1970.

While serving in the Navy he was stationed at Harold E. Holt Naval base in Australia for two and a half years during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home he attended classes at the University of Minnesota, where he reconnected with his high school friend Vicki Sundby. They later went on to be married on August 28, 1976 in Fargo, ND. They spent a few years in Garden City, KS where they had their first child. They then moved back home to be closer to family. They settled on a small farmstead in Glyndon, MN where they would raise their children. Tim worked many years for Morton Buildings and in the construction field, then for his great friend Virgil Anderson, then finishing his career with BNSF railway. Tim retired from the railroad and began to live his retirement dream.

Tim and Vicki spent the last few years wintering in Bullhead City, AZ. It was here that he was able to really enjoy one of his passions, swinging his clubs on the golf course. They also met amazing friends, enjoyed time sightseeing and relaxing. Tim not only liked to golf, but was also an avid camper. Raising his children to see the world from campsites all over the country. There were many great memories made and laughs had. He also enjoyed a game of cards, an evening at the casino or hiking a trail, but his biggest love was for his family. Both immediate and his large extended family, they meant everything to him. There was hardly a time when he missed an event for one of them (unless work made him), and couldn't wait to give them grief. He was quick with a joke or a tease, and would make sure that all present were acknowledged. Tim made sure that those around him felt that they belonged no matter what, and he went out of his way show it. Most who knew him had a saying or tag line just between them, and if they didn't they could predict which one-liner might come next. His presence filled a room without dominating it, and his laughter could be heard for miles with a smile that lit up his whole face.

Tim was preceded in death by his father William Langeberg; mother Hildegard Langeberg; brothers Ron Langeberg, Corby Langeberg and Larry Langeberg; sisters-in-law Esther Langeberg and Carol Langeberg. He is survived by his wife Vicki (Sundby) Langeberg of Glyndon, MN; children Kari (Douglas) Uzzle, Lynse (Benjamin) Lyng, Matthew (Stacie Score) Langeberg, and Nicholas Langeberg; grandchildren Eli, Milo, Anders, Charlotte, and William; brothers Duane (Gayle) Langeberg, James (Ann) Langeberg, and Rick (Donna) Langeberg; sisters-in-law Beverly Langeberg and Andrea Langeberg; and many many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead, MN. Prayer Service will be held Thursday, April 27th. Visitation at 5:00 p.m. with service starting at 6:00 p.m. Funeral will be held Friday, April 28th at 1:00 p.m.

They'll always be a white Russian [Ukrainian] at the campfire for you!
