Tim “Coach K”'s obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Timothy Jay Kornrumpf “Coach K”, on February 11, 2024.

He was born November 17, 1965 and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, where he and his family were members of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a cherished soul who touched the lives of all those fortunate enough to know him.

Throughout his life, Tim exemplified kindness, empathy, and selflessness. He enjoyed traveling, sports, and creating memories with those he loved. He always had a joke for any situation and an infectious laugh that could light up any room and a warm presence that made strangers feel like longtime friends.

He had a genuine passion for teaching and coaching at Wingfield High School. Beyond his role as an educator, “Coach K” was a source of inspiration for many. He encouraged creativity, instilled confidence, and taught valuable life lessons that extended far beyond the confines of the classroom. His dedication to his students went beyond the curriculum, as he became a mentor, a confidant, friend, and even a father figure to some.

Tim is survived by his loving family members, grateful students, and a community that will forever be touched by his spirit. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy will continue to shine through the countless lives he touched.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, February 25 at Calvary Baptist Church at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church in honor of Timothy Jay Kornrumpf. Your condolences and memories are welcomed and can be shared on everloved.com.

As we bid farewell to Timothy Jay Kornrumpf, let us remember the laughter, the lessons, and the love he shared with us all. May his spirit continue to inspire and bring smiles to our hearts, just as he did during his time with us.

“WEST SIDE BEST SIDE!” Peace.
