Timothy's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Timothy Stephen Hausfeld, who left us on December 27, 2024. Born on October 29, 1960, Timothy was a cherished individual known for his resilience, kindness, and generosity of spirit. Tim, as he preferred to be called, had a brightness and warmth of character that will be greatly missed.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, James Richard and Rose Ann Hausfeld, as well as his birth parents, George Hamilton and Shirley Louise MacNeil. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Karen, children Christina, Tony, and Kelley, and grandchildren, Sophia and Benjamin. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia, and two brothers, Darrell and Blaise, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life he led.

Tim was raised in Vienna, VA and graduated from Oakton High School in 1979. He went on to attend the United States Naval Academy from 1979 to1981, before transferring to George Mason University where he completed his undergraduate education with a Bachelors in Electronic Engineering in 1985. Tim became a Sheriff's Deputy with Loudoun County in June 1988; he was disabled in the line of duty in April 1993.

He met his wife, Karen, in late 1989 and they married on June 2nd, 1990. After they welcomed their last child, Tim went on to graduate studies beginning at George Mason University in 1992. He graduated with a Masters Degree in Telecommunications and Computers in 1998 from George Washington University.

In accordance with his wishes, Tim will be cremated. Details regarding his Celebration of Life Service are forthcoming.
