David and Mary were two of my best memories of practicing medicine. I knew Tim from his mid-20 s. Always enjoyeTimd talking to Tim and trading embellished tales. Oscar Wilde said death is the only true democracy, we all die. I have the greatest of respect for the family and mourn for their loss. I also recall knowing Mary’s parents and their great love for Tim. May God give you eternal peace Tom and Judy Ramage

I met Tim in 1974, and I was immediately impressed with his interest in everything and everybody. Nobody was ever overlooked, and he was a good friend to everyone he met. You could always count on him. Of course, the fact that you are listening to or reading this means that you already know this.
So, I just wanted to share one of my fondest memories of Tim that goes back to the fall of 1974. Ed Little, Tim and I shared an apartment in Las Cruces, for our last year at NMSU. (I believe it was Ed that introduced me to Tim.) Ed & I were both playing polo and Tim indicated that he would like to learn to play. I think we all know how much Tim loved horses and how committed he became to the game. That was very obvious to me after the first time we went out riding together and I showed him how to swing a polo mallet. When we got back to the apartment Tim was really excited about what he had learned and experienced, but he was exhausted. So, he just crashed on the couch in the living room. Later when I walked back through the living room, Tim was still asleep on the couch, but you could tell he was playing polo in his sleep! He was swinging his arm like he had a polo mallet in his hand and counting off the positions of the swing, just like we had been doing out on the field. talking in sleep, saying “One, Two, Three, Four” and swinging his arm to match the position of the swing. No, I didn’t wake him, and I am not sure I could have even if I had tried!
I will never forget, and I will always be thankful for the friendship I had with Tim.

Tim was a good friend for many years and the kind of person who knew people to the depth of their soul in so many ways. What a special and bright guy. He truly loved people and really did have a happy heart. So glad to know him and sorry to see him go. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Tim Collier was a fun loving, kind, considerate cousin who I had the pleasure to share time with. I remember one time in particular, we were going on a mountain highway. My dad pulled over to the side of the road so we could look over the edge. Looking over the edge was not something that my cousin Tim was interested in. When I found out about his fear, I started dancing on the big rocks on the side of the road. All Tim was interested in was saving my life by begging me, with alligator tears to get down. He cared about the feelings of others and in this case their safety. We had great times together, even though we lived many miles apart, and I am very thankful for a loving cousin like tim Collier. Without him, I might have fallen off the mountain He was a DANDY!

I first met Tim back I the eighties in San Patricio, NM, at Peter Hurd’s polo field. Tim was always smiling, and quick to reach out and help any way he could. He and my Dad (Mickey Samuell) played Polo as teammates, and against one another over many years. More recently, I was living in Tularosa, NM, and reconnected with Tim. He came out to the ranch a few times, and had some great laughs with my dad and I.
Tim, my dad, my brother (Robert), and I were also New Mexico Military Institute Alumnus, and he and I shared a few Homecomings, and Trail Rides these last few years.
My prayers and condolences go out to his family. Tim was such a great guy. I’ll dearly miss him.
