My dear friend Timothy is missed everyday. I feel part of my life was taken away too soon. Tim's presence was an act of kindness - he brought joy and perspective into my life. He never made negative comments about anybody. I always told him how much I loved him and appreciated his sense of humor. We were like two kids in primary school trying to out-prank each other. I was supposed to meet him for the first time to sign some papers for my house purchase, so I asked him how he would describe himself. This is what he said:

"Well I am about 5 feet tall with long red hair, braided, coming down to the bottom of my bottom, sort of rotund and wear tight-fighting plaid suits."

I cracked up so loud...I envisioned him as a leprechaun. When I saw him in person he was totally NOT how he described himself.

That is how I remember Tim.

I miss him a lot.

My friend Tim was, as I mentioned earlier, very funny and witty, but he also had a very serious side, and we shared many episodes of our lives. I learned a lot from Tim about his work and all the different aspects of his business. I learned about how to manage my loan, investments, etc. But I found that there were many things about his life that were very interesting and some were totally mind blowing. There were several Tims all rolled up into one - the Athletic Tim, the Business Tim, the family man Tim, the care-giver Tim, the Good Samaritan Tim, and My Friend Tim. I still cannot believe his premature departure.

My condolences to Tim's family. I first met Tim when when I was referred to him by a mutual friend, Doug Anderson. I was shopping for a house and Tim helped me purchase my current home. We became instant friends and regularly met and had lunch or chatted on the phone.  His sense of humor was infectious and combined with my sick sense of humor, we owe would often play pranks on each other leaving phone messages with hilarious messages.  One of the most amazing things about Tim (Timmysaurus Rex,  my nick name for him)  was his unconditional giving. I bought the house and I was moving from my old house and had a lot of stuff (books, furniture, art, etc.) and Tim offered to come over and help me move, without me ever asking or even expecting. When I asked him why would he do that when he had not even met me yet. His reply was simple -- "that is what friends do."  I would never forget that gesture. Tim was not someone you could ever forget. When he became your friend, he was a friend for life.  I love him  and will always love him and the memories we shared. I miss my friend, but I feel his spirit visiting me when I am swimming in my swimming pool. Tim was an excellent swimmer and practiced weekly.  You are missed my friend.

I had the privilege of taking care of him at Marquis Tualatin.  When I first met him he was always smiling and grateful to everyone and everything-even the food which many residents are less than thrilled with.  He said that he loved everyone all the time and that RN stood for really nice.  He touched the hearts of everyone he met and I will always remember him and be thankful for being able to get to know him.

Tim was a good, good man. Generous, kind and compassionate. He was a true blessing in my life. Farewell  my friend. You will do very well in your new  life.
My prayers are with Trish and all the Bolen  family throughout these difficult days but knowing Tim is with Jesus and has heard “Well done thy good and faithful servant.” is cause to rejoice, too! What an impact for Christ  he had on so many. My life was richly blessed by him and all the Bolens throughout my years at Milwaukie First Baptist. To God be the glory! Praying for you all from here in Augusta, Georgia as you celebrate his life. God bless.

Tim always said “If you can’t be nice, be nicer.”

His life exemplified this.

I met and befriended Tim when I met and married his cousin in 1985. Our friendship outlasted the marriage. A fine man and family. I know Tim is out of pain and now he's in God's loving embrace. Tim: put in a good word for me!
