HENDERSON, NEVADA - Constantine "Tike" Karavas, age 84, passed away on September 29, 2023, in Henderson, Nevada. He was born on December 22, 1938, in Los Angeles, California. Tike was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. Tike was an amazing individual who left an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
Tike was a man of immense kindness, generosity, and love. He possessed a deep sense of empathy and compassion, always extending a helping hand to those in need. His infectious humor and charismatic presence drew people towards him, and his genuine care for others created lasting connections. Tike's compassionate and funny personality made him a joy to be around, and his charisma left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Survived by his daughter, Corina Keenan, his granddaughter, Cameron Keenan, his grandson, Devin Keenan, his brother, Dan (Vannie) Karavas, his niece Patrice Karavas, his nephew John Karavas, and many cousins including his closest Angelo Stamis. Tike's warm presence will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Karavas, and his father, John Karavas. Tike's former wife, Sandra Karavas, also mourns the loss of this exceptional man.
Tike had a remarkable career which allowed him to travel the world with the Harlem Globetrotters. This adventure was one of the highlights of his life and he enjoyed sharing his tales with all. He also worked at Jerry's Nugget in Las Vegas and made significant contributions to the Redondo Beach Historical Museum.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tike found solace and joy in his hobbies. He had an unwavering passion for sports and cherished the time spent with his beloved family and dear friends. These treasured moments created lasting memories that will forever be held dear by those fortunate enough to have shared them with him.
In accordance with Tike's wishes, a small private memorial service will be held at Wayfarers Chapel in Palos Verdes in November, honoring his life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Collaboration Center Foundation, an organization that reflects Tike's philanthropic spirit and dedication to making a positive impact on the world.
