Again, I want to offer my condolences to the family.

Tom worked with me in the Alameda Community Probation Summer Education Program. I hired him because of expertise in ELA and CTE. Although, I met Tom when I was on the Oakland School Board, I had never seen how he interacted with students. I got to see Tom in action. He was great with the students! He really enjoyed teaching the kids. He inspired the students. In turn, they connected with him! You see, they were on juvenile probation for committing minor crimes. For the first time, many of them saw a positive way forward for themselves.

Tom had a way of lowering the temperature in the room when things weren’t going in the right direction. He always had something pleasant to say, a smile on his face, and a calm demeanor. I will certainly miss him. Tom was a delight to work with. I will miss him. Carol Lee Tolbert

At the ACE Mentor MVROP Fremont site,  Tom Scott would periodically come in and provide encouragement and praise to both students and mentors for their deliberate choice to put effort towards educating and preparing the architects and engineers of the future. Tom had that unique ability to capture the students attention with his life stories about being from Broklyn and motivated them to have style and flair as you passionately improve the world around you. A truly humble and inspirating educator.
