Thomas R Valinoto was born on Oct 27, 1932 to Pasquale & Edith Valinoto in Philadelphia, PA. Thomas graduated from Southern Philadelphia High School in 1951. He enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City, NJ with his family every summer where he worked as a bus boy at a local restaurant and swam in the bay with his friends. From 1948 to 1951, he was a championship winning gymnast. He met Nancy Grimaldi on a blind date which was truly fate as the date was supposed to be set up with his cousin Joe instead of Thomas. Thomas would walk several city blocks to meet Nancy and go on dates in the park. They were married on July 11, 1953. He joined the army, serving in the Korean War where he would send letters and pictures to Nancy of his service. After returning from the Korean War he attended West Chester College and received a degree in education . He landed his first job as a teacher, kicking off a career in education then later became a principal at Wissahickon School District in Ambler, PA. They have 6 children, Gary T. Valinoto, Debra A. Kern, Thomas R. Valinoto Jr, Leigh Ann Ciccone, Lisa M. Quinlan and Vicki L. Albright.
After retiring in 1987, Thomas spent his time with family, playing golf, wind surfing in the Florida keys. singing barbershop with the Pretzel city chorus and loved going to Atlantic City and eating at white house subs.Thomas is survived by his wife Nancy, sister Concetta, 6 children, 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren .Thomas was a great mentor, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Dad you will be forever in our hearts. You will be missed but not forgotten.
