I met Tom in the Greenwood school around 5th grade. Never got to know him well till high school when we went skiing on Sundays with another friend. Tom was a true ski buddy, as over the years it seems that was usually when we spent time together.
The winter before I moved to Montana we shared a house in Waitsfield and skied MRG. One of the best seasons for skiing there.
After moving to Montana Tom came to visit and we visited Yellowstone Park and Glacier. We did a little skiing that spring. After that I didn't see him much until he started going to Utah, then we would alternate getting together in Utah one year and Montana the next.
After he stopped going to Utah I only saw him a few times when I visited New England.
The last time I visited with him was in September of 2024. I will miss Tom as we would text and occasionally talk about you guessed it SKIING.
Hope that he is skiing powder every day for eternity!
I am  Tommy’s cousin.  I have known him all my life.  We spent time together as family’s always Easter and New Year’s Day at our grandparents house.  Later as adults we would see each other at family get togethers.  For several summers Tommy would visit with Cyndi , my husband and I at our home on Cape Cod.  He would always ask if there is anything he could do for us.  Always looking to help out.  What I have learned from Tommy through the years was it is okay to be yourself, to be at peace with who you are and what makes you happy.  I am so proud he did just that!  I will miss his quiet manner and his sweet smile.

I met Tom during my college days in Mass. We started skiing in the Valley and he and I both moved to Vermont at about the same time. We stayed close and often skied together at the Bush or MRG. I lost touch after moving away and regret not seeing him despite MRG being our home base when our kids were young skiers. Tom was very quirky and just about the nicest, most genuine person you could know.

Billy Hall, I met you through Tom and always enjoyed hearing of your Montana adventures.

I know how much Tom cherished the Valley and Mad River Glen. His personality and character are what make up the unique fabric of life in the Mad River Valley.

I will be thinking of Tom, his family and all his friends on Sunday and the next time I am deep in the woods at MRG.

Miss you Studley!
