Thomas's obituary

Thomas Snow Franklin Hughes (“Pete”)

February 9, 1964 – March 5, 2026

Thomas Snow Franklin Hughes, lovingly known to many as “Pete,” passed away on March 5, 2026, at the age of 62.

Pete was the kind of man who was always busy with his hands, usually tinkering with something or working on a project. He loved the simple things in life watching the Auburn Tigers, spending time fishing, and listening to good country music. But what people will remember most about Pete was his personality. He had a natural gift for telling stories, the kind that could keep a whole room listening, and he could make anyone laugh. His laughter was genuine and contagious, and being around him meant you were almost guaranteed to hear a good story before the day was over.

He is survived by his children: Christopher Hughes, Jeremy Hughes, Emilee Hughes, Madison Hyer (Chase), and Courtney Hughes (Klint); along with a host of beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Betsy Price, and his brother, Mathew Hughes.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Hughes; his mother, Sara Hughes; his sister, Donna Cole; and his brother-in-law, Phillip Price Sr.

Pete leaves behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, and memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
