Mr. Scheidt was one of my favorite teachers at Dos Palos High School as the class of 1976. He was an awesome teacher, football coach, and just a great man. Prayers for all the Scheidt family. He was an inspiration to all he knew. ❤️🙏🏻

It saddens me to think we’ve lost another Person that made a difference
What a great guy Tom was

I was fortunate to get to meet Mr. Scheidt as my principal at MHS. He had a strong yet gentle presence about him. He was smart, kind, energetic, and could make you feel like his only concern was you. Simply put— there was a special aura about him. He was there to welcome us back to campus from lunch (even in the rain with his umbrella) or after summer vacation. He was at the award ceremonies, tennis matches, debate competitions and would run across the quad to break up the occasional lunchtime fight.

Ten years after graduating from high school, he stopped me in Starbucks in Merced. Was touched he recalled the college I had attended and things from high school.

Although I didn’t get to have a lot of interactions with him, I will always be grateful I had him as a principal.

Tom was my first and best principal. When he retired I was fortunate to have him as an assistant coach when I served as defensive coordinator for his son and my good friend Rob. We had great times and I was blessed to have been allowed into that circle. Much of the success that I have enjoyed as a head coach can be attributed to the time I spent learning from the Scheidt family. Jake Messina-Rocklin Ca
My love and prayers go out to Sandra and family at this difficult time. I’m sure Tom had his big, beautiful smile on his face when he met Jesus! God bless you all 🙏🏻✝️❤️
