He graduated from high school in Wheeling, West Virginia in 1967. He moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1969 and joined the Navy in 1970. During his free time, Scott, or Scotty, as his parents and family called him, liked to hunt, fish, and travel. Often the travel destination was to see his parents in West Virginia or his brothers who lived in neighboring states. He enjoyed showing his daughters the home he grew up in and his old neighborhood. He enjoyed boating out on the lake to fish at Muddy Run and would occasionally take his daughters along. He also liked to watch wrestling and he’d get together with his mother in law, Veda and they would watch it together.
