Tom was a person with great character. It was never about what he wanted or material things. If he loved you, he'd give the shirt off his back and ask for nothing in return. It was the small things like taking the time to always check on us or reminding us to "be careful" if we were traveling or working late. One time he left a message for Sara that there was going to be a "catastrophic" flooding and she should sleep at the hospital. Of course, it was a bit exaggerated but very characteristic of Tom!
We will miss hearing his voice. But most of all, we will never forget how he communicated (with regular phone calls, voicemails, and texts) from his heart - letting us all know how much he cared.

A medal was found in Tom's wedding tux pocket. It was Romans 5-3-5.
We also rejoice in our suffering because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us.

Tom was a great father-in-law. He treated me like his own son and I'll forever be grateful for it. He was a great collector and always sent the best sports memorabilia as gifts. He had a great eye for it. They were always thoughtful and even though I was a die hard Packers fan, he never held it against me. Rest in Power, Tom. We'll see you on the other side!

I love you bro. I will miss those conversations we had weekly about politics, coins and our favorite subject sports! I will miss the conversations we had regularly about the Cubs and Bears and how god awful they both were but there was always hope. I’m so glad we both got to see the Cubs win a World Series in 2016. I guess I’ll no longer get that urgent call from you to get over to Wrigley Field and buy a game ticket just to get the latest bobble head given to the first 5000 people through the gates!
RIP bro and say hey to mom and dad for me. Goodbye for now,
Go Cubs and da Bears !!!
