Thomas's obituary

Thomas Mangum, 87, of Fredericksburg, VA, peacefully passed away on August 25, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.

Thomas was born on January 27, 1936 to William and Ruby Mangum in the city of Pageland, SC. Thomas served 5 years honorably in the Air Force as an Airman 1st Class. He worked as a computer specialist for the Department of Defense as well as the United States Secret Service.

In 1960, he married the love of his life, Wanda David. Thomas and Wanda went on to have one child named Troy. Thomas retired in 1993 with over 35 years in federal service. While retired, Thomas had time to pursue his love of golf, fishing, watching Old Western shows and spending time with his family. He was also very active in his church. Thomas was predeceased by William and Ruby Mangum (parents) and Wanda Mangum (wife). He is survived by Riley Mangum (brother), William Mangum (brother and wife, Mylle), Mona Kobernus (sister), Troy Mangum (son), Nicole Mangum (daughter-in-law), Reagan Mangum (granddaughter) and several nieces and nephews. No services will be held at Tom's request. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Fredericksburg SPCA.
