Tom's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas "Tom" Lubas on July 8, 2024. Better known as Tom, he was born on February 22, 1953, and lived a life full of vibrancy and passion for his many interests.
Tom leaves behind his beloved wife, Susan Lubas, who provided unwavering support and love throughout their life together. An enthusiast of life, Tom had a wide variety of tastes that ranged from his love for cherry pie and sipping on diet coke or peach mango iced tea, to enjoying a good book on World War II, health, or psychology.
Evenings for Tom were often spent laughing along with episodes of Seinfeld, Soupy Sales, or Combat, or losing himself in war movies and comedies. A big sports fan, he passionately supported the Phillies, Sixers, Eagles, and Bucs and loved to unwind with video games.
Tom had an active spirit, taking pleasure in fishing, tennis, martial arts, and billiards. He was a regular at Johnny's Pool Hall and the Moose, local spots he held dear. He also championed physical health, frequently running, playing tennis, and practicing martial arts.
Despite his love for activity, his favorite vacation was simply being at home, reaffirming that it was his haven. In the face of many years of illness, Tom was a true testament to resilience. He never complained and retained his sweet, kind, and funny nature, bringing light to those around him. It is noteworthy to highlight his achievement of becoming number 1 in 4.5 tennis for the state of Florida.
In lieu of any flowers, we ask that donations be made to the American Lyme Disease Foundation at https://everloved.com/life-of…. Even in his absence, his essence can continue to contribute to something he believed in.
Tom’s indomitable spirit, humor, and kindness have left an indelible mark and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. We take this time to celebrate his life, honoring his legacy, and cherishing the memories we have created with him.
