Tom's obituary
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Mr. Thomas "Tom" Charles James, who passed away on November 30, 2025 in Seattle, Washington. Born on April 17, 1948 in Seattle, Washington to Albert James and Lillian James (Carlson). Tom spent his life creating a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication.
Tom was a man of many qualities, but he was most notably friendly, lighthearted, and jovial. His ready smile and infectious laughter were his most prominent trademarks, and they were as uplifting to everyone around him.
Tom was a beloved father and grandfather. Among his greatest accomplishments, he often cited the love and respect of his four daughters and five granddaughters. They were his pride and joy. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer James, Katherine Quiniola (Christopher Quiniola), Annalise James Hussain (Walid Hussain), and Megan James (John Bradley Igers), his granddaughters Caroline and Emily Quiniola, Hannah and Maya Hussain, and Harper James-Igers, as well as his wife Carmen James (Celms) who carry forward Tom's legacy of warmth, love, and kindness.
Professionally, Tom spent decades working with his father Albert James at Binks Manufacturing. He worked several sales jobs after that and eventually found his "work home" serving the members of the Seattle Tennis Club in security. It was a role of which he was exceedingly proud and stayed in until his health would no longer allow. His dedication to ensuring the safety and comfort of the club's members went beyond just a job—it was a testament to his character, his unwavering dedication, and his commitment to his community.
Tom's passing is indeed a significant loss for us all, but his jovial spirit and his immeasurable love for his family will continue to live on in our hearts. While we mourn his loss, we celebrate the remarkable life he led and the countless lives he touched with his charm and good humor.
