Thomas's obituary
1959 - 2018
GRANADA HILLS, CA – Thomas J. Lindley, 59, of Granada Hills, California, died unexpectedly on November 5, 2018, at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA, following an auto accident. He was the loving husband to Diane (Helton) Lindley, originally of Charleston, IL, and devoted father to their sons, Evan Avery Lindley (23) and Ian Arthur Lindley (21), all of Granada Hills, CA, who survive him.
Thomas was born in Alma, MI on September 14, 1959 and raised in Owosso, MI. He was the son of Larry Jay Lindley, now of Apache Junction, AZ and Dona Ruth (Smith, Lindley) Powell, now of Portland, MI, and stepson of Edward Ross Powell.
He graduated from Corunna High School Class of 1977 and attended Ferris State University. As a sales rep, Thomas’ work took him to Texas and Arizona, until he settled in the Los Angeles area in 1984.
Known for his sharp wit and astounding memory, Tom embraced life with a love for good food and great music. His passion for music is a gift he passed on to his sons, who are both accomplished musicians. More than anything else, Tom loved his role as husband and father. He made family life an adventure, and he will be sorely missed.
In addition to his wife, sons, and parents, survivors include brother Scott Avery Lindley and wife Julie Ann Lindley of Gilbert, AZ, niece Sarah Ann Palmer of Gilbert, AZ. and nephew Kenneth Wayne Lindley of Laveen, AZ. Proceeding him in death were grandparents Doris and Avery Lindley, and Bert and Claudia Smith, all of Michigan.
In light of this tragedy, Thomas’ ultimate gift as an organ donor has saved the lives of several people. We ask, on his behalf, that you and your loved ones consider the gift of life, organ donation.
A Celebration of Thomas’ Life will be announced in the near future. Those who wish to help the family may go to https://www.gofundme.com/help…
