Thomas Hopp, 84, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on March 17th, after a five year battle against multiple myeloma. He died peacefully at home. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Irene Hopp a sister, Ardis Bakker and a younger brother, Arthur. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Judith, his loving step-daughter Lisa Rice and family, a sister, Nancy Decker of Spokane, Washington, niece Sheri Decker, nephews John Decker & Paul Decker and their families, and a nephew, Thomas Bakker and niece, Nancy. Tom was an avid outdoorsman who spent much of his time in nature. His favorite areas included the Culverhouse Community Garden where he was a volunteer, cruising the oceans and the Caribbean, hiking and bike riding the American West with his lifelong friend Gary George. After graduating high school in Seattle, WA, Tom served as an Interior Communications Specialist in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from UW in 1965. He entered a manufacturing engineering program with G.E. And had a long and varied career with G.E.
