Thomas's obituary

Tom passed away at home surrounded by family on January 13, 2026. He was the first born to Harold ‘Red’ and Gladys Hagen in New Rockford, ND on October 24, 1947. After graduation from New Rockford High School, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany for 2 years. After serving his country he returned to North Dakota and attended Lake Region Jr. College. Following college, Tom worked for Archie Campbell Construction and Leever’s Supermarkets. He later owned and operated a grocery store along with his brother, Bruce.

Tom married Christine Bush on March 2, 1973. Together, Tom and Christie had 3 children: Jackson, Stewart, and Miranda. They became Grandparents in 1994 for the first time and great-grandparents in 2016. Tom had 6 grandkids and 3 great granddaughters that he loved dearly. He truly lit up when he was able to spend time with the children in his life. Tom will always be remembered for his love of animals and kids, the smell of his pipe, and his quiet nature.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Red and Gladys Hagen and is survived by his wife Christie (Bush) and 3 children; Jackson (Nadine) Hagen of Turtle Lake, ND, Stewart (Lori) of Livermore, CO, and Miranda (Joey) Barber of LaVergne, TN, his grandkids; Levi (McKayla), Talley, Anna, Chase, Brenna, and Ashley as well as great grandkids; Finlee, Grayli, and Lue. Siblings Colleen (York) Sinkler and Bruce (Colleen) Hagen.

Services will take place this summer with a burial in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND. Details will be provided at a later date.
